Creative Tribute to Beautiful Creations

How to Portray the Women?! Ouch, It’s Tough!

Pretty transparent in showing emotions and most complicated as a persona, women are not easy to depict through any art or singular image. And when the occasion is celebrating for the all the womankind and Google Doodle that is creativity personified is supposed to come up with a concept, it was not a piece of cake for the creative designers. The portrayal had to sum up decades of gender, without making it offensive or patronizing.

Google Doodle has been celebrating many occasions (almost every biggie) and the job is done amazingly as every time the team comes up with something innovative, creative and indeed awesome; it seems the creators do it effortlessly as they always have something stunning in their kitty. But as they confess, “This year flummoxed the creative team”; let’s get to know how they presented the women society through graphics and what wonder they brought to homepage of Google for such a vital day!

The Women’s Day special Doodle took three months of struggle and then the idea of chromosomes (one giant and 26 mini) came into light. Another one was to add 100 women in a video, but good heavens! Even this was not as easier as snapping the fingers.

Do You Know the Women in the Doodler Video?

Google Doodle Included Real Women First Time

Yes, some women in the images are not the ordinary ones; they are inspirational, fictional and real women, such as campaigner Malala Yousafzai. Some are inspiring in their own way, but not famous, like Pakistani school girls and studying children from Nigeria and Guatemala. As they belonged across the world, they represent the entire womankind.

Oh! Is the Footage Patronizing or Universally Acceptable?
The captured parts are taken with great focus whether they are acceptable or not. Throughout the video, the girls, baby-girl and women are seen saying “Happy Women’s Day!” with smiling faces. The visual parts even do not involve scenes like giving flowers to women because it is patronizing in some countries.

Background Music Score

Belgian Congolese provided the music and the Zap Mama rocked!

Time of Clip: 1.20 minutes

Kudos to Germick and his team, Zap Mama's team, message givers in the footage and all those more than hundreds of googlers who have been the part of it!
