About Goddess Brahmacharini

The word Brahmacharini contains one Sanskrit word ‘Brahmachari’. Here Brahmachari means ‘the unmarried’ or ‘bachelor’. Thus the literal meaning of Brahmacharini is the bachelor lady.

Goddess Brahmacharini is considered to be another incarnation of Parvati who became Sati in this form. Brahmacharini is worshipped for moksha that is emancipation and for peace and prosper life.

Brahmacharini goddess is depicted walking bare feet holding the kamandal and japamala in her hands. She symbolizes happiness and calmness.
