The Legend Nelson Mandela Died

The former president of South Africa and icon of anti-apartheid, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela passed away of lung infection at 95 in Houghton, Johannesburg. In the presence of his family, he breathed his last at his home on 5 December, 2013 at 8: 50 p.m. (local time).

On 6 December, President Jacob Zuma announced his death on South Africa’s nationally televised program saying “Our nation has lost its greatest son”. He mentioned this time as “the moment of deepest sorrow” and declared a mourning period of 10 days nationally.
